The Liebster Award - Questionnaire

Tuesday 28 February 2017

Last week I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Ciara. We met on one of the the blogger chats on Twitter.  Thank you for nominating me Ciara.
This award is similar to an award called The Versatile Blogger Award. These questionaires are great as it's a new way for people to find new bloggers as it's a chain type questionnaire.
Here some rules for this award:
Thank the person who has nominated you for the award and post their link in this post
Display the award on your blog
Write a 150-300-word post about one of your favourite blogs that is not your own
Post 10 random facts about yourself
Nominate 5-11 blogs that you feel deserve this award and provide links to them in your post
Answer 10 questions that your nominator has asked you
Ask your nominees 10 questions
Let your nominees know that you have nominated them for the Liebster Award

So lets get do this!
A favourite blog which is not my own is....
Cruelty-Free Kitty
Cruelty-Free Kitty is my favourite blog as there are a wide variety of cruelty-free beauty reviews and recommendations which are my favourite kind of blogs to read. Cruelty-Free Kitty's blog has shopping guides, lists of companies which test on animals, animal testing facts, best products of 2017 and so much more. I turned cruelty-free with my beauty products since April last year because of Suzi's blog. The knowledge I have acquired is currently being spread through my social media platforms.
Now for the 10 random facts

1.I'm a outgoing introvert.
You may be surprised to find out that i am an introvert as making YouTube videos seems a very extrovert activity. I discovered that I was an outgoing introvert when I completed an online test and ever since I have read articles about this personality type which have resonated with me. Outgoing introverts may be on a career path of a extrovert however, they get drained and need to retreat to refuel their energy.
I love deep conversation but i despise small talk. Which leads me onto the next random fact.
2. I don't like small talk
I understand that small talk is required to start a conversation and to get know people on a deeper level. But I would much rather have long and deep conversation about unusual topics such as aliens or scenarios such as "what would you do in a zombie apocolpyse?".
3. I have a rabbit called Magic
4. My favourite colour is purple
5. I'm left handed
6. Easter is my favourite time of year (mostly because of the rabbit decor on sale)
7. I have a sweeth tooth
8. Lush's "Snow Fairy" shower gel is my favourite ever scent.
9. I'd like to own a cockapoo dog one day
10. I'm a evening person

And the lovely nominees who i have chosen who i feel deserve the Libester Award and would like to fill out this questionnaire are…

CrueltyFreeKitty Suzi
Sherry Scribbles Sherry
The Gem Agenda Gemma
Entirely Sarah Sarah
UniqueLoveStyle Ellie

Favourite animal and why?
Rabbit because they are great listeners and fluffy AF.

What is your favourite place to go on holiday?

Firstly I would move out of my parents house and buy a house of my own. I would buy my parents a house too.
I would invest money into my blog and YouTube channel. I'd buy a Canon g7x camera, ring lights, DSLR camera, new laptop, phone. create a website and a merchandise store.

Nottingham In Fashion Bloggers Event

Thursday 23 February 2017

Hi Everyone.
On the 21st February, I was invited to a Nottingham In Fashion Bloggers event, which was hosted at the luxurious Beauty Temple on Queens Street. I had an exclusive preview of their catwalk event which will be held between the 24th and 25th March at the Market square.
I've always had a passion for fashion since I was younger. I studied for a fashion design degree in Nottingham which finalised in 2012.
Beauty Temple is a remarkable place to relax and be pampered. I would love to recieve a free treatment so that i can experience the salon to it's full potential.
After a cocktail it was time for a sneak preview of whats to come during the Nottingham In Fashion event.
Nottingham's retailers will be showcasing spring and summer styles. There will be regular catwalks across both days the Nottingham in Fashion is free to attend. All you have to do is go to www.itsinnottingham.com/fashion to book a catwalk show.
This year's themes are "Campus to club" which celebrates Nottingham students. Retailers such as Primark, New Look and Claire's Accessories.
"Desk To Dinner" which is for the working professions in Nottingham. Brands such as French Connection, Warehouse, Marks and Spencer and finally "The Style Classics" which is high-end fashion.
I'm looking forward to seeing the trends on the catwalk in March. Stay tuned to watch the vlog :)

There was a makeup bar room with a lovely makeup artist who was demonstrating a range of products from makeup brand called Delilah who are cruelty-free and paraben free. I had a free sample of my blush and contour done with a blusher in the shade "Opera" and a bronzer. The pigmentation was excellent, felt light on the skin and I had compliments that I looked radiant.

Visiting Green's Mill And Science Centre

Saturday 18 February 2017

Hi everyone
Yesterday i visited Green's Mill which is a 19th century tower windmill in Sneinton, Nottingham. It used to be owned and operated by scientist called George Green. You can visit the windmill and learn about how flour is made. The award winning organic flour is avaliable at the gift shop to purchase inside the science centre.

The Science Centre is a place to play and discover the story of George Green and his achievements.
Green's Mill is a special place to me as I used to often in my childhood with my grandparents. They used to take me nearly every weekend to be let loose on the park and in the small science centre to burn off my unlimited amount of energy.
The tour of the windmill starts from when you climb up to the top and then you learn about the process of how flour is made by working your way down. But in the vlog i did it the opposite way. Oops!

Have you visited Green's Mill before? What did you think about it? :)

Snizl Bloggers Event In Nottingham

Thursday 16 February 2017

Hi everyone

On the 13th February I was invited to Snizl's bloggers event in Nottingham city centre. Snizl is a app which is easily downloadable to your mobile phone and it informs you of what's going on around you in your local area all in one feed. The app invited local bloggers to visit some of Nottingham's Independent retailers which are hidden gems around the city.
The first stop was The Pudding Pantry which is a dessert cafe. Everything is made from scratch and tastes delicious. From the 25th February The Pudding Pantry is going to be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. It's great place to eat for a treat after going to the Cineworld cinema in the Cornerhouse. I will definetely be visting the Pudding Pantry again to satisfy my sweet tooth.
The second stop was make up boutique CaBella. We were given a taster session of how to create a smokey glittery eye look which is very popular at the moment. If you would taster session then prices start from £14.

CaBella use a large variety of make up products on clients. If you would prefer them to use cruelty free make up (like me) then just ask. The staff are there to cater to your needs and make you feel like a princess.

My favourite part of CaBella was the beautiful mirrors and dressing tables for client make overs. I loved them so much that i had to take a selfie.

Next we visited Weavers which is a independent wine and spirit merchants. We experienced a wine taster session which gave us an idea of the kind of things they can offer. I met the managing director of Weavers called Alan Trease who is the 4th generation of his family to be running the independent wine merchants.

I enjoy finding out the history behind businesses and what makes them unique. Everyone has a story to share including myself as blogging and vlogging is apart of my business.

If you have a special event then Weavers can be booked to cater to your party. Weavers also team up with the Cheese Shop to offer food and wine pairings.
The last stop was tequilla bar 400 Rabbits. We sampled different flavours of tequilla and shared a pitcher of sangria (delicious!). 400 Rabbits have a happy hour daily between 5-8pm, and all evening on Wednesday. I think it's a very cosy bar and i especially loved the foosball and board games avaliable to play with upstairs.
If you would like to see what i got in my goodie bag then watch the video on my Facebook page below.

NYX Photo-Loving Primer Review And Swatch

Saturday 11 February 2017

Hi everyone.

I have recently been loving NYX Studio Perfecting Photo-Loving Primer which is £10.00 from Boots. The primer is silky and easily absorbs into the skin which creates a smooth surface when foundation and concealer are applied.

3 colours are available which is clear (for large pores and lines), green (to conceal redness) and lavender (to brighten). I brought the clear primer as I have pores on my nose and acne scars to conceal. The primer is a similar to a water consistency and using a little bit of the product goes a long way.
I think that the primer makes such a difference to my skin and it gives me more confidence when I wear makeup.
Here is a before and after I've applied makeup.
Let me know in the comments below if you have tried NYX Photo-Loving primer and your thoughts.

I would recommend it.

My Struggles With Growing A YouTube Channel

Thursday 9 February 2017

Hi everyone.
I wanted to share my struggles with growing a YouTube channel. Becoming an online presence is not easy. I think it's one of the most difficult things that I've ever worked towards and 3 years later I would rather still be true to myself because it means never hiding how I truly feel.

So here are my struggles with growing a YouTube channel so far...

Lack Of Feedback
I make videos purely for my own enjoyment and creativity. However, i would like to make this a part of my job one day. So for my goal to be fulfilled I need feedback for my progression and growth. When you have a small channel i feel like this more difficult to obtain due to lack of interaction.

The Appeal
The appeal of becoming a YouTuber looks easy but the reality of growing a YouTube channel or blog is hard work. I work a little bit every day on my blog and channel for it to keep growing. I feel as though i am a sculptor who has a tiny chisel which chips away at a rock. Sometimes i feel proud of my progression and i can see the result of my work or i feel like i'm getting nowhere.
I've learnt to use other peoples success and stories to inspire me to keep going.

Exhaustion
Internet entertainment is available 24/7 and I feel I have burnt myself out with exhaustion by not stopping to take a break. I said on the #bloghour chat on Twitter 2 days ago that I have to limit myself what content i put out onto the internet.

A4. I work on my blog/youtube channel for at least 1/2 hours everyday. I limit myself otherwise, i would burn myself out. #bloghour
— Hayley (@Bunnymoonstone) February 7, 2017

What helps me to feel better and regain energy is by interacting with YouTube/Blogging community. I have started to interact within more discussions on Twitter during the evenings. There are so many people out there who feel exactly like i do and it provides me with comfort.

Let me know in the comments below your struggles with growing a YouTube channel or blog.

NYX Professional Make Up Concealer Wand Review And Swatch

Tuesday 7 February 2017

Hi everyone
In my recent vlog "Shopping In Nottingham" one of the items which i purchased was NYX professional make up concealer wand in the shade "Fair" CW02.
NYX are one of my favourite make up brands as they are affordable, good quality and cruelty-free.
I wanted to let you know my thoughts on this product as I have been using it for a couple of days. The concealer feels lightweight on the skin and covers any imperfections or under eye dark circles. The coverage can be built up to suit your needs. Because I have acne scars I feel that I need to build up the concealer to a high coverage. This product is £5.50 at Boots I think this is an excellent price and I would recommend it.

Let me know in the comments below if you have tried NYX concealer wands and what you think of them.
