Around The World Summer Cocktail Launch Nottingham

Sunday 30 July 2017

On the evening of Thursday 27th July. I was invited to sample the new Summer Cocktail lauch at All Around The World with Notts Local News and fellow Nottingham bloggers.

This amazing bar is in the Bierkeller Entertainment Complex on Friar lane.

This is the first time that I had visited since it used to be Walk About and it has been totally transformed. It's a beautiful venue with 3 sections Shooters Sports Bar (Top Floor), All Around The World (Ground Floor) and The Bierkeller (Bottom Floor).
All Around The World's new cocktail menu is my definition of summer because nothing says summer to me like a fresh fruity cocktail in a glass. All Around The World has added 18 seasonal cocktails to its list of classics and favourites. I'm here to share with you in this post my thoughts and my personal favourite cocktails from the new menu.
What I love about cocktails from All Around The World is that they are all made fresh and right infront of of your eyes. They are made from fruit purees and vodka, whiskey and rum blends.
Bar supervisor Dan Watson says the key to making the perfect summer cocktail is getting the balance of sweet and sour just right, and mixing up vibrant colours to recreate a sun-soaked holiday vibe.

“We look to create a contrast because you can’t just have sweet sweet sweet, that’s not a good combination. We only use fresh purees because they taste much more natural than regular juice, they give the cocktails texture and they look nicer because the colour is stronger.”
Dan says the summer menu was put together after a series of tasting sessions.
“We’ve got 18 new ones which made it onto there, but we rejected a lot more than that,” he explains.
“We sample in groups because it’s important to get a lot of people who like a combination, one opinion isn’t enough, so a lot of it is trial and error. Something can look amazing but taste awful and then it’s back to the drawing board"
General manager Sean Cullen says that cocktails are now a favourite with both sexes, and men are increasingly ditching beer to try them.
“Cocktails are really popular with everyone at the moment, and a lot of guys who a couple of years ago wouldn’t have touched them and would have gone straight for a pint, are now thinking, I wonder what that’s like? That’s a good thing because, especially in the summer, a refreshing drink is just what you need.”
Gemma (TheGemAgenda) and me sampling cocktails
The new menu includes Passion Fruit Margarita, Strawberry Mojito, Coconut and Lime Daiquiri and an English Country Garden made with Hendricks gin, elderflower liqueur, lemon and topped with prosecco.
My personal favourites from the menu were Passion Fruit Margarita, Strawberry Mojito, Coconut and Lime Daiquiri. All of them were tasted fruity, fresh and delicious. I will definetely be returning again for a visit in the near future.
We got very spoilt with all of the cocktails to taste and give feedback on. We were served a wide range of food to eat from mini pulled pork burgers, smoked salmon and cream cheese canapes, mini meat balls covered in cheese, mini fried chicken with a choice of dips to nachos.
All dietary requirements were taken into consideration. Meat lovers, vegetarians and gluten free. I felt like such a VIP with the special treatment that I had received. I had way too many cocktails because I was having a fantastic time. It's great to let your hair a little down at events like this.
The venue would be nothing without the wonderful staff who cater to your every need. Izzy served our table. She is very sweet and a hard working waitress. She handled a large group of me and my work colleagues very well.

I'd like to thank Paul for inviting me on Twitter. The Bierkeller Entertainment Complex for having me and the wonderful hospitality from all of hardworking staff.

Debenhams Annual Summer Gala Nottingham

Friday 28 July 2017

On Wednesday 26th July at 6pm I went with Becky (LilacBeautyBunny) to Debenhams Annual Summer Gala at the Nottingham store.
It was a fantastic event full of all of my favourite things which is Strawberry daiquiris (from Revolution De Cuba), Chocolate Brownies (from Heavenly Desserts) and make up.
I loved Gem 106's pop up photobooth because I can never resist taking a selfie inside an Instagram frame.
We were invited to the Bare Minerals counter to watch a make over on a live model using their products. I'm a big fan of Bare Minerals as their products are cruelty free, skin-loving and pure.
We got to smell and test all of the products which the beauty consultants used on the model. The staff were full of knowledge and happy to answer any questions that we had.
Each person who attended got given a raffle ticket to win a prize from the BareMinerals counter. Also, there was a separate raffle for Debenhams. I'm proud to say that I won a prize from the BareMinerals raffle. I was lucky number 2.
I won a Bare Guide To Color Cool kit which has 3 stunning looks for weekend, work and wow. It's got everything you need if you crave colour in your make up collection (which I do as I normally stick to the same colour palette). This collection contains a Prime Time Primer Eyeshadow in the shade Polished Pewter, Velvet Charcoal eyecolour, Round The Clock Waterproof Eyeliner in 4pm, Rarest Rose Blush, Mini Natural Lipgloss in the shade Plumtini and a double-ended full tapered shadow & blush brush. If you would like me to do a blog post full of swatches of these products. Let me know in the comments below :)
For attending the live make over we got given a BareMinerals goodie bag which contained 2 full size products. I got a Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in the shade "Get Ready" and a Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in the shade "Trail Blazer". Both are stunning colours which I can't wait to wear for the rest of summer.
I also recieved a goodie bag from Debenhams with a gorgeous Chloe make up bag and loads of perfume samples which will last me for about a year. Haha.

Thank you for having me BareMinerals and Debenhams. I'm looking forward to the next event.

Boots Simply Sensitive Moisturiser and Cleansing Water Review

Tuesday 25 July 2017

Hi everyone.
At the moment I am really loving Boots Simply Sensitive products.
Boots Simply Sensitive skincare range has been specially formulated to be kind to your skin. A simple collection of products which are fragrance and colour free. Containing soothing aloe vera, your skin is left feeling soft, smooth and cared for. Click here to look at the entire range. I love how it's a budget friendly collection and cruelty free (as made in the UK). £1.99 per product is a bargain.

I have combination to oily sensitive skin and I've been using 2 simply sensitive products every day for the past 2 months and I have been impressed with them.

Let's take a look at the first product which is...

Boots Simply Sensitive Protecting Day Moisturiser SPF15 (125ml)
The description on the packaging says
This oil free daily moisturiser has been formulated with vitamin e and spf15. It helps keep skin supple and is formulated to be non-pore blocking. it leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and helps protect against premature ageing caused by skin damage.

What I first noticed when applying the moisturiser is that it feels very light weight and it absorbs easily into the skin. What really appeals to me is that it has SPF15 to help protect from the sun.  This is perfect for the summer time. I like to use the moisturiser as a base and then apply a primer and makeup.

Boots Simply Sensitive Gentle Micellar Water (200ml)
The gentle micellar water with aloe vera thoroughly cleanses the skin removing makeup and impurities, leaving your skin feeling soothed.

I've had no breakouts since using the cleansing water and it removes makeup very well. I would recommend it. It feels refreshing and calming to the skin.

Let me know if you have tried any Boots Simply Sensitive products and what you think.

Nottingham Street Food Club Gin And Jazz Evening

Saturday 22 July 2017

Nottingham Street Food Club is a independent indoor street food market inside Intu Victoria Centre. The 150-seater venue features four hot food stalls and a bar which are all run by local independent traders.Nottingham Street Food clubs allows the people of Nottingham to eat globally but dine locally.
On Friday July 21st at 7pm I was invited by Intu Victoria Centre to a gin and jazz evening to sample the food and drink which is on offer. This was my first time visting Nottinghams Street Food Club since it has been opened and I was impressed.
Nottingham Street Food club has a great environment which buzzes with atmosphere and exictment.

Intu Notts Bloggers had their own table and bartender to serve us drinks during our evening. We were provided with 1 food and 4 drinks tokens.
I like how we could pick and choose what food we wanted from any of the food stands.I enjoyed socialising with fellow bloggers and asking their thoughts on what foods they had ordered. Everyone that I spoke to had positive feedback to give.

I ordered a piri-piri chicken wrap from the clean cut food stand which was filled with piri piri chicken, tomatos, lettuce, peppers and sweet potato. Delicious :) Recommended.
I love how all of the food is freshly prepared and made right infront of your eyes. Staff are friendly and serve with a smile. I like how there is plenty of seating and a wide range of tables around the central bar.
I tried a gin for the first time and unfortunately I didn't like it at all. However I did try a cranberry and disaronno cocktail which was more to my personal taste. I'd recommended it if you like fruity drinks like I do.
Watch the vlog below:)
I would like to thank Intu Victoria Centre and Nottingham Street Food Club for inviting me to a fabulous evening.

RIP Chester Bennington

Friday 21 July 2017

I'm so sad to hear about the passing of Chester Bennington. I love Linkin Park and they hold a special place in my heart.
This is because Linkin Parks albums Hybrid Theory (2000) and Meteora (2003) were there for me in my early teenage years. Linkin Park gave me support without even knowing it.

I have happy memories of sitting in art class at school when I was 15. I loved painting and creating while listening to my SONY CD player with Linkin Park's "Meteora" album blasting loudly in my ears.

Linkin Park helped me to feel and release emotions when I was growing up. I wasn't open with my communication as I am today. When I was a teenager I used to bottle up all of my emotions and hold everything inside. Music spoke what I couldn't express.

Sometimes I find the best way to recharge my energy is by being alone while listening to music as I'm empathic and a outgoing introverted personality type.

Chester Bennington made me realise that it's OK to feel all of the feelings because It's apart of being human.

RIP Chester Bennington.

Peachy Fox London Anti-Redness Skin Calming Cream Review

Tuesday 11 July 2017

I was excited to be able to try Peachy Fox's Anti-Redness skin calming cream. I love finding new beauty brands which are made in the UK and are cruelty-free.
I turned cruelty free with beauty products last year in April and It's the best decision I've ever made. I shared this in my blog post called Cruelty Free Beauty

So let's take a look at this product. First of all what I noticed is that the moisturiser is a perfect size for travel or to pop in your hand bag. I love that this moisturiser is a pump so it's convenient and easy to apply the product on your face or body. The consistency of the moisturiser is thick so I would recommend giving your skin plenty of time to let it sink in.
I have sensitive skin and it makes my skin feel smooth and hydrated. It is Rosacea friendly  and recommended to help reduce the appearance of scars. I have acne scars as due to my oily to combination skin type so this is perfect for me to use.
I love how it's made from all natural and organic ingredients. It contains gentle roseship & chamomile which helps to soothe and calm skin. The clean formula reduces redness and inflammed skin which contains flaxseed oil, green tea, cucumber extract, chamomile and rosehip oil. The product smells of a delightful refreshing cucumber. It lasts for 12 months, is not tested on animals and is vegan.

Directions of use is gently massage into the skin until the cream is fully absorbed. Can be used on the face or body.

I think that this product is going to be a strong staple in my beauty collection. The product is really easy to apply and makes my skin moisturised all day. Recommended.

Happy 3rd Birthday BunnyMoonstone

Friday 7 July 2017

This week my YouTube channel and blog celebrated it's 3rd birthday on the 4th July.
To celebrate BunnyMoonstone's birthday I'd like to share with you (in no particular order) my 5 top favourite videos and also a short reflection on what I've learnt in the 3 years that I've been on YouTube.
Let me know in the comments below what your favourite Bunny Moonstone video is so far.

1. White Post Farm
A great day out with my friend Sarah at White Post Farm in Farnsfield. We loved looking at all of the cute animals and had plenty of giggles. My favourite part was when we raced the pedal go karts. It was a challenge driving and vlogging at the same time.
2. Snizl Bloggers Event
This was a jam-packed evening of visiting some of Nottingham's hidden gems around the city. Snizl Bloggers Event was the biggest event that I had filmed on my YouTube channel so far. It was great to meet and network with a large group of bloggers. My favourite part of the evening was when we were given a tour around Weavers Wines cellar. I swore I could feel a ghost down there as the bumps on my arms were raised.
3. Chino Latino's Birthday Party
It was a really fun evening as everyone dressed up in glamourous reds and blacks. I was able to let my hair down and enjoy myself with my fellow blogging ladies. I especially liked the free bar with the delicious and yummy fruit cocktails. It's one of the best birthday partys I have ever been to.
Chino Latino knows how to party.
4. Focus Gallery Jewellery School Opening Nottingham
I'm a huge supporter of expressing creativity as I am creative myself. It was an honour to get invited to the launch of Focus Gallery Jewellery School. I spent an afternoon making rings with a lovely bunch of people from Left Lion, HeyWhats on Notts and Snizl.
5. Open Lanes And Farm Risley Derby
Open Lanes and Farm in Derby was a perfect way to get my cute fluffy farm yard animal fix. I love animals and I prefer them to people sometimes (haha). The vlog is only 2 minutes long but I think it really captures my personality and sense of humour.
So now I've shared my top 5 favourites videos with you. I wanted to reflect on these past 3 years and what I've learnt so far.

On 4th July 2014, I was absolutely petrified as I had never filmed myself, vlogged in public, edited a video and uploaded a video to YouTube. It's been a journey of continuous learning, experimenting with content and making plenty of mistakes. I think it's great to make mistakes because how do you know the outcome if you don't try.
3 years later I'm confident with filming, vlogging and editing. I enjoy public vlogging rather than sit down videos (I honestly never thought that I would say that haha).
My aim has been focusing on the progression of my channel and trying to make each video better than the last. This is how you become better at what you do by practicing. At the moment I'm still learning and striving to be better at what I do with what I have.
YouTube is not an easy platform to grow and I have really struggled to keep a focus on the positives at times. I've learnt just to keep going with what I love doing and follow my heart.
I've stopped comparing myself to others and I'm learning to accept myself for who I am. Self love is a daily practice and a work in progress.
In the last video and blog that I uploaded which was the Swatch #YOURMOVE Bloggers Event. I filmed a video clip of my entire body whilst dancing in the #yourmove dance class which I would of never have done when I started my channel.  This shows how much more comfortable I am in my own body. I spoke about my body issues in the Destructive Thoughts As A Plus Size Woman And Self Love blog post.
When I started my channel I could instantly tell you a enorrmous long list of what I don't like about myself. But now I can tell you a even bigger list of what I do like about myself. This shows how much I've grown as a person.
YouTube has helped me in other aspects of my life as regards pushing myself out of my comfort zone and meeting new people. I've done things which I would never have thought. In the past 3 years I've learnt to grab and say yes to any opportunity which comes my way.
I've met so many wonderful people through starting my YouTube channel. Thank you to anyone who has subscribed, liked or left a comment. I really love hearing feedback because that helps me to keep going as well as the enormous amount of love and fulfilment for what I do.

So let's raise a cyber glass of a drink of your choice and celebrate many more years of Bunnymoonstone.

Bunny Hugs,

Hayley

Swatch #YOURMOVE Bloggers Event

Monday 3 July 2017

When the email dropped into my inbox to have the opportunity to come along to Swatch #YOURMOVE bloggers evening I knew I couldn't pass up the chance. The theme for the night was celebrating Swatch's new collection of SKIN watches. The #YOURMOVE campaign is all about what moves you. What moves you? what are you passionate about? Let me know in the comments below.
What moves me is music. I love moving my body to music and letting my hair down. Music washes away the struggles of everyday life and allows me to be free in my mind.
On arrival we were greeted with delicious fruit smoothies and healthy canapes. I particularly enjoyed the chocolate protein balls. I'm a foodie so I always enjoy what food and treats are on offer.
Following on from the food and socialising with fellow Nottingham bloggers we then had a chance to look around the Swatch store and at the new SKIN collection.
All bloggers recieved a goodie bag and we got to pick a Swatch watch out of 10 designs. I documented the event live on my Instagram story. Why not follow and come with me to future events?
I chose the SKINCIEL watch because I love the colours baby blue and silver. If you have been following me for a long time then you will know that I have a ocean obsession. I love the colours of the ocean especially blues, metallics and shimmer. The watch feels very smooth and lightweight.
At the dance studio with fellow blogging ladies Rhiannon (Cats and Contours) and Gemma (The Gem Agenda)
We were then escorted to a dance studio for the the second half of the evening as we took part in a #YOURMOVE dance class.

We all wore our new watches and were given a Swatch vest top to wear.  Our dance teacher was great and taught us a short dance routine in an hour. I really enjoy dancing and letting my hair down. By the end of the evening my face was bright red like a beetroot because I was sweating from all the exercise.

I'd like to thank Swatch for inviting me to a great evening and for the goodie bag. If you would like to see what I recieved then watch my vlog below.
