Dolcino Bloggers Event

On Friday 16th February at 7pm I was invited to Dolcino which is independent gelateria-cafe located in the heart of Nottingham city centre.
Local bloggers were invited to sample some of the wide variety of gelato and desserts which are on offer. I can confirm that the food tastes great and it's set at a fair price. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
I think a strong selling point of Dolcino is that it caters to all dietary requirements such as gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. All you have to do is ask and they will customise your order.
The interior of Dolcino is retro and funky with strong teal green theme. I thought the bike on the walls added a personal and quirky touch.
Shortly after bloggers were greeted with friendly smiles and a glass of bubbly from the staff. Francesco Arcadio (manager and founder) gave us a talk about how the family business began and his passion for making gelato.
A small group of us were shown a tour of the kitchen and how gelato is made in the cafe. We learnt how to make a amaretto, caramel syrup and Twix gelato. It was fascinating to learn the process and see how the gelato making machine works. We got to smell the industrial size tubs of amaretto and caramel syrup (which made my mouth water). I had recently shared with you on my birthday gift haul video (click here to watch) that amaretto is one of my favourite flavours and alcoholic drinks.
I had also sampled a mini unicorn sundae and blueberry waffle dessert. They both tasted delicious.
There are so many flavours of gelato to try. If you pop in for a visit then please let me know your favourite flavour in the comments below
