Aldi Lacura Too Legit Waterproof Mascara

Sunday 19 July 2020

Hi everyone
During my weekly essential food supplies shop I picked up a Lacura Cheeky Cheeks Palette. But also I brought with my own money a Lacura Too Legit Water Proof Mascara to test and review.
This cruelty free mascara is a bargain at £5.99. The packaging looks modern and rather a similar dupe to Benefit's "they're real" mascara which unfortunately tests on animals. Primark also do a cruelty free version which is called P.S Wonderlash.
I'm really enjoying trying Aldi's make up products so far on my blog and YouTube channel.
So first of all let's talk about the packaging. I love how it has customers feedback about how it lengths, volumizes and lifts lashes It doesn't look like it's a supermarket beauty product and it looks professional. Also the mascara itself is a gorgeous metallic blue. It's a great size to pop in your make up bag or on the go.
But how does the formula feel like and what does it look like applied onto your lashes?
Well the formula feels very light weight on my lashes, it lifts, darkens and volumises. What the packaging says is what it does. I really like the mascara wand and how small bristles come out of the end of the wand so that when you apply your mascara holding the wand vertically then you can capture every single bottom lash.

I think that it makes my lashes look pretty. What do you think? Let me know in the comments below.
But the main feature of this mascara is that it's waterproof. Does it really work? Can a £5.99 with stand the water splash test?

Aldi's Lacura Cheeky Cheeks Palette Review

Wednesday 15 July 2020

Hi everyone.
During UK lock down I haven't ventured out into the city centre to do any shopping despite the restrictions lifting. It makes me feel anxious being surrounded by so many people even socially distanced. What do you think? let me know in the comments below.
At the moment I feel much more comfortable sticking to local supermarkets and shops.
A couple of my make up supplies such as blusher, highlighter and mascara have unfortunately expired over the past few months. I think it's important to check your make up expiry dates as out of date make up can harbour bacteria causing irritation and acne. Also the older a product gets then the less they can work.
On my YouTube channel I mentioned awhile back that I wanted to test and review more Aldi Lacura make up as it's affordable and cruelty free. I noticed whilst I was shopping at Aldi for my weekly essential food supplies the Lacura Cheeky Cheeks Palette. This is a bronzer, highlighter and blush trio palette which is £4.99. I brought this with my own money to test out and review.
In the image below here is a swatch on the back of my hand so you can see the shades and pigment. (from left to right bronzer, high lighter and blush)
This is palette has subtle pigmentation which I like as you can build up the colour to your desired effect. I also liked the patterns of the pressed pigments in the palette. The palette doesn't look like it is sold at a supermarket. I like the pastel packaging. It reminds me of the Barry M Hide and Chic palette which contains 5 shades of bronzer, highlighter and blusher
It's very natural looking and pretty. I'd recommend it. If you've tried this palette before then why not let me know in the comments below.
If you would like to watch my review video then you can watch it below.

5 Inexpensive Ways To Look After Your Teeth

Monday 6 July 2020

Hi everyone!
During the corona virus pandemic the UK lock down has meant unfortunately that dentists have been closed for the past couple of months and now they are easing restrictions will be opening up for emergency treatments only (click here to be directed to the NHS website for information). On my YouTube channel I've shared my favourite beauty bits which I've brought during lock down that are easy to buy and affordable. One of the items included is a pack of 3 bamboo toothbrushes and it got me thinking that I should share inexpensive ways of looking after your teeth. So here are my top 5 inexpensive ways to look after your teeth.
1. Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief Toothpaste
*This product was gifted by Colgate, but all views are my own* If you have sensitive teeth like I do then I would recommend trying Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief toothpaste.
In the Summer time I can't resist a delicious fruity mock tail or sugary fizzy drink but too many can cause my teeth to ache. I struggle to drink anything. The dentist recommended that I should limit my acidic drink intake as they can dissolve minerals in tooth enamel causing cavities and enamel erosion. They recommended that I should use Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief which has provided me with instant pain relief.
You can either brush your teeth normally twice a day or you can apply the paste directly onto the sensitive area and massage gently for 1 minute. The Pro-Relief works by plugging the channels that lead to the sensitive tooth nerve. The toothpaste builds up a protective barrier on your teeth which acts like a seal so it doesn't cause you any discomfort. I have been using this toothpaste twice a day for 2 weeks and I have noticed a huge difference in how my teeth look and feel. My teeth feel stronger, less sensitive and my gums look more healthy too. Sensitive teeth may be caused by an under lying problem so please go and see your dentist if the pain is persistent. I find that with sensitive teeth there isn't a alternative toothpaste that has worked as well as Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief. I like the holographic box that it comes in. It's clear, modern and bold. The toothpaste contains 75ml which is a great size to pop into your hand bag if you struggle with sensitive teeth and need relief during the day.
2. Brush and Floss
Brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing can keep your mouth clean and sparkling.
3. Cut Down On Sugar
We all love a sugary treat but sugar unfortunately causes tooth decay and cavities. Cutting down on sugar can decrease your risk of gum disease.
4. Hydrate
Drinking plenty of water helps your teeth as it washes away cavity causing bacteria from left over food. Water also helps to prevent a dry mouth.
5. Coconut Oil Mouth Wash
You can use it as a hair mask, conditioner, make up remover, moisturiser, highlighter and also as a mouth wash. Coconut oil can reduce plaque, tooth decay and fight gum disease. Take a table spoon of coconut oil in your mouth and swish it around your teeth for 10 minutes, then brush and floss as normal.
