Clumber Park Lodges Review

Hi everyone. I recently had a short break away with my support bubble at Clumber Park Lodges in Worksop. We checked in on Monday at 6pm. This holiday was self-catering and we brought our own  food and drink. Aldi is 10 minutes away in the car and you can order food online from your lodge on Uber Eats. Also at the lodge site there is a cafe called the Woodshed which serves coffee, tea and light bites to eat.

We stayed at lodge number 70 which had a private hot tub. I'd recommend getting a lodge with a hot tub as it was so relaxing. We went in the hot tub everyday. The settings are easy to use and you can adjust the temperate to your liking. It was serviced every morning by staff with fresh water so it was clean and ready to use.

The lodge itself was clean and cosy. We were provided with a small welcome pack with tea and coffee sachet, dishwasher tablet, salt and sugar. I read a couple of trip advisor reviews before our stay and someone recommended to bring more dishwasher tablets so I brought one for each night of our stay. I’d recommend to do the same thing because who wants to do washing up on holiday?. The lodge is well equipped with everything you need kitchen utensils such as oven mitt, cutlery, utensils, sauce pans, cups, plates, bowls, dishes, glasses and even a jug pitcher for drinks so you can perhaps sit out on the balcony and enjoy a pimms. They also provide bath mat, hand towel and shower towels. If anyone is coming here I’d recommend bringing your own towels, hand soap, tea towel and spare loo roll.

We had to put the heating on a few times due to the weather being rainy and cold at the beginning of the week. But the lodge quickly heated up whenever the heating was put on.

I brought along some DVD's for us to enjoy and unfortunately our DVD player wasn’t working and a remote was missing but we phoned reception and a member of staff came around to replace it with a new one within 10 minutes which I thought was great service.

I read on trip advisor that some visitors had issues with the showers. The shower was always nice and hot and I enjoyed having a shower in the morning or after a hot tub session.

However I did have an issue with the sleeping arrangements. There is limited space around the beds. I slept in the twin room on the first night and the beds are not made for someone who is tall and 5ft 10 like me. If you are shorter than 5ft 6 then you won’t have a problem. My feet were hanging over the edge of the bed. I laughed it off and I ended up sleeping on the big sofa in the living room for the rest of our stay and it was very comfortable.

Phone signal isn’t the best at the lodge site. You can still get signal at certain places in the lodge but it’s very tempremental and it’s the same for the WiFi. If you are looking for a place to switch off from the outside world then it's perfect. I enjoyed my stay and would come here again. Recommended!
